Frustrating Design Faults!. I had had my old food processor (a braun one) for about thirty years, using it regularly, before it finally gave up the ghost. So i researched and chose this one to replace it. But i wish i had my old one back!at first this one seemed ok. It looks good. And the food processor part does the job fine. Now the bad points. The first one is just irritating rather than affecting the performance. The shaft that drives the blade is separate and doesn't click into the base. So every time you lift the bowl off the base, the shaft comes with it and invariably falls on the floor! there is nowhere sensible to store it, so inevitably again, i seem to have mislaid it, meaning i can't use the food processor until it turns up or i order a replacement (i even went through the bin trying to find it!). The grater attachment is awful! the instructions warn you that there is "a small amount" that can't be grated and this was the same with my last one - there is a bit at the end of the carrot or whatever that remains. But with this one it's a huge amount, meaning that it's difficult to grate a small amount. I haven't tried to use the mill much as it says that if you use spices in it you may damage it - which is what i'd use the mill for. Not sure why spices would damage it but coffee beans won't but hey ho!i used the liquidiser once when i first got it but the base of it is the mill - it seemed to me that it would be easy when unscrewing the blender from the base, to also unscrew it from the mill, resulting in the contents going all over the floor, so i use my old blender and mill when i need to. I have used the whisk once or twice - works fine but seems very flimsy. Again use my stand alone ancient whisk in preference!because there are two bowls it takes up so much cupboard space. And unless your shelves are very tall, you can't store the bowl on the base because it's too tall (i think they probably think everyone will just keep it out on the worksurface but i think it takes up too much space). The bowl containing the spare parts does allow the main bowl to slot into it so that's something. So all in all, the food processor part is fine but i can't help thinking there must be better designed all round machines on the market. .

Far more useful than we expected is the extra small bowl & blade which fits inside the main one. Vari-speed is useful. Only downsides are 1) a lot of kit = a lot of space needed to store it all !2) i would have to concur with others, it is a nuisance the centre drive spindle keeps falling off. However it is probably an inevitable part of a design which includes both a food processor and a liquidiser on the same motor base. .
